The pandemic that has swept the world has been hard on almost all businesses, lives and workers across the globe. Those in full-time work in Britain have been put on furlough and others have unfortunately lost their jobs. If you were self-employed for less than three years prior to the outbreak, chances are, you have received little to no governmental support but have had to close your business down for some, if not most of the past 365 days.
It has been hard. However, small business owners are renowned for being tough. They are the people who take innovative chances and there has probably never been a rich entrepreneur who did not run a small business at some point in their career.
We are here to help you bounce back and show you our marketing strategy to help small businesses survive pandemic-related issues in 2021.
Re-Evaluate and Take a Step Back
First off, it is impossible to do things when stressed. Our brains shrink, our hormones go crazy and our bodies give up.
Take time out from the stress and do something that makes you happy. Put the business to one side for a day and go and feel the sunshine on your face.
As we head into Spring and summertime, it is the perfect time of year to be starting afresh and re-evaluating your process. Relax, smile and start anew.
Read over your old marketing strategy and highlight anything you would like to bring forward to your new one. Circle things that worked and cross out those that didn’t. Be brutal. People want change at the moment. If it is a total rebrand, you need then go for it. If not be aware of exactly what is working so you can use it moving forward.
Ask family and friends. Reconnect with your family and friends and ask them for their opinions on your online business and your marketing. Chances are they have them! See what they like and dislike and use it as an audience sample to try and improve your marketing.
Marketing Template
Print out a marketing template online and work to it. Remember you can always add to it, but it will help you figure out if you have missed anything from your plan.
Do not spend a vast amount of time on the marketing plan. The most important thing to do is work out your budget and costs and limit them as much as possible to the things you will need to spend money on like advertising.
Ensure you are not pushed to your limits in the plan or, chances are you will go over budget in reality.
Re-Design
If you have any new or different details to add to your business, then do a quick design overhaul for free.
Update your website and your socials. Pay attention to your contact details and your prices, make sure these are changed. Update your content and your pages. Reassess your target audience for marketing and make sure you are on point.
Get creating content and adverts to add to your content bank and keep them cheerful and exciting. People are now ready to get back to normal and enjoy the summer so have an angle on that when you create your content.
Make business cards with your personal information, ensure the logo is up to date and if you like, change something to refresh your business. A brighter colour or a bolder font can make all the difference. For more information, click here.
Add QR codes that link to your social media or website. It is now super easy to create them and most people are using them often.
If you re-evaluate and re-design your business, you will feel great and hold more confidence to continue working hard. Remember, you are the battery that drives your business. Recharges are sometimes necessary and can be extremely beneficial.
